Transit Gateway route tables
Route tables on an AWS Transit Gateway define which attachments (VPCs, VPNs, TGW peering) can send traffic to which other attachments.
"I need to segment east-west traffic between VPCs without creating dozens of peering connections."
Transit Gateway route tables are routing domains attached to a TGW; each attachment is associated with one route table that determines where its traffic is forwarded. They let you control and segment connectivity centrally without changing individual VPC route tables for every peer.
