BGP basics for AWS connectivity
BGP is the protocol routers use to exchange network routes so AWS and your on-premises network agree on which IP ranges are reachable where.
"I need my on-premises networks and AWS VPCs to automatically learn each other's routes without juggling static routes."
BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is a routing protocol that advertises IP prefixes and path attributes between autonomous systems (ASNs); in AWS it's used on Direct Connect and Site-to-Site VPN to dynamically exchange routes instead of managing static routes manually.
