Load balancer health checks (ELB/Target Group)
A health check is a periodic probe from a load balancer to decide whether a target (EC2, container, IP) should receive traffic.
"I want my load balancer to stop sending requests to broken servers automatically."
Health checks are automated requests the load balancer makes to a specific protocol/path to verify a target is responding; failed checks remove the target from rotation until it recovers.
