Metrics and SLOs
Metrics are measurable signals about system behavior; SLOs are target ranges for those metrics that define acceptable service health.
"I need a precise number to decide when to scale or investigate incidents."
Metrics are numeric measurements (latency, error rate, CPU) collected over time; SLOs (Service Level Objectives) are explicit targets for those metrics that guide alerts, scaling, and reliability decisions.
