Service quotas and soft limits
Service quotas (soft limits) are adjustable caps AWS places on resources you can create, which can block scaling if not increased.
"If my autoscaling group can't add instances because of a hidden cap, my app still goes down — even though there's capacity."
Service quotas are AWS-imposed default limits (soft limits) on resources like EC2 instances, load balancer targets, or VPCs; many can be raised by requesting an increase via the Service Quotas console or API.
