Load Balancer purpose
A load balancer sits in front of servers and directs incoming requests to healthy instances so the service stays fast and available.
"I want my website to keep serving users even if some servers are slow or fail."
A load balancer distributes incoming traffic across multiple targets, performs health checks to avoid sending traffic to unhealthy targets, and enables failover so requests continue being served if parts of the system fail.
