CIDR block allocation for VPCs
A CIDR block is the IPv4 or IPv6 address range you assign to a VPC so AWS resources inside can get non-overlapping IPs.
"I need my VPCs to talk to other networks without IP collisions."
A CIDR block (e.g., 10.0.0.0/16 or 2600:1f16:abcd::/56) defines the IP address range for a VPC; you must pick sizes and ranges that don't overlap with other VPCs, your on-prem networks, or peered VPCs.
