Defining subnets in a VPC and the concept difference between public subnets (with IGW route) and private subnets.

Subnet (public vs private)
A subnet is a range of IP addresses in a VPC labelled public if its route table sends 0.0.0.0/0 to an Internet Gateway (IGW), otherwise it's private.
"I need some servers reachable from the internet and others only accessible from inside the network."
A subnet partitions a VPC's IP space into smaller networks; a public subnet has a route to an Internet Gateway so instances can have internet access (usually via Elastic IP/NAT), while a private subnet does not and is used for internal-only resources.
