Failure domain definition
A failure domain is the boundary within which a single fault can cause service impact; smaller domains limit blast radius.
"I don't want one mistake to take down everything my customers rely on."
A failure domain is the scope (component, subnet, AZ, region, or account) affected when a specific failure occurs; mapping components to distinct domains minimizes how much breaks when something fails.
