Insert PivotTable dialog
The Insert PivotTable dialog is the small form that lets you pick the source data, where the PivotTable goes, and whether the data joins the workbook Data Model.
"I want a summary I can reuse later and join to other tables — but where do I tell Excel that?"
The Insert PivotTable dialog collects three decisions: which cells or table supply the data, whether the PivotTable goes to a new or existing sheet (and which cell), and whether to add the source to the workbook Data Model so it can relate to other tables and use DAX.
