PivotTables and PivotCharts (Excel)
Changing data source
Pointing an existing PivotTable to a different worksheet range, Excel table, or external connection so it summarizes a new dataset.
"I updated the spreadsheet with a new sales table — how do I make the Pivot show the new columns and rows without rebuilding it?"
Changing a PivotTable's data source tells the Pivot where to pull its raw data from (a range, a structured Table, or an external connection). After you point it at the new source you typically refresh the Pivot so it rebuilds its summary and available fields.
