Calculated Item
A Calculated Item is a new category you add inside an existing PivotTable field that computes a value from other items in that same field.
"I want a custom category like 'Domestic' that combines 'East' and 'West' without editing the source table."
A Calculated Item is a formula-defined item you create inside a PivotTable field (for example, "Domestic = East + West") so the pivot shows that new category alongside original items; it operates at the item level inside the field rather than as a separate aggregated measure. It changes how the pivot computes subtotals and totals and has important limitations.
