Foundations of HR & Employment Law
At-will employment
A default employment relationship where either the employer or employee can end the job at any time for almost any lawful reason.
"I want to retract an offer or terminate someone quickly without getting sued — is that allowed?"
At-will employment means either party can terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice, and for nearly any reason, unless a law, contract, or public policy limits that right.
