Tagging releases (git tag)
A git tag is a named snapshot pointing to a specific commit, used to mark releases or important points in history.
"I want a stable, human-friendly name for this exact commit so I can find or deploy it later."
Tags label a commit with a memorable name; annotated tags include metadata (author, date, message) and are signed optionally, while lightweight tags are just a simple pointer.
