Branching (git branch)
A branch is a lightweight, named pointer to a commit that lets you work on features or fixes in isolation from main development.
"I want to try a change without risking the working main code."
A branch creates an independent line of development by pointing to a commit; new commits move the branch forward while the main branch stays unchanged.
