Repository access and contributor notes
A repository's access and contributor notes tell people the license, how to contribute, and how to run or review the project safely.
"I want others to fix bugs or add features without accidentally breaking the project or getting sued."
Contributor notes are short docs in a repo (LICENSE, CONTRIBUTING.md, CODE_OF_CONDUCT, and README sections) that state legal terms, contribution workflow, and safe steps for reviewers and contributors. They make expectations explicit so maintainers and contributors act the same way and avoid legal or technical surprises.
