Performance budgets
A performance budget is a numeric limit you set for a metric (like load time or bundle size) to prevent regressions.
"I want my app to stay fast, not just fast today but forever."
A performance budget defines concrete numeric thresholds for metrics (e.g., first contentful paint < 1.5s, bundle < 200 KB) and enforces them in CI or monitoring so changes that exceed those limits fail checks or trigger alerts.
